What we do

Bandera Plumbers is a plumbing service line for Bandera County. You call (858) 363-8298 at any hour, a person answers, and we send a licensed plumber to your home, ranch, cabin or business in Bandera, Pipe Creek, Lakehills, Medina or the ranch roads in between. Bandera Plumbers connects you with independent licensed plumbers who perform the work.

We built it this way because plumbing trouble out here rarely waits for business hours, and because the county is big. A burst line under a cabin on the upper Medina River and a backed-up kitchen sink on Main Street need the same thing: someone who picks up the phone and a plumber who knows rural systems.

Our 24/7 promise, and what it does not mean

The phone is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, holidays included. That is a promise we can keep.

What we will not do is promise a plumber in your driveway within a set number of minutes. Lakehills is about half an hour from Bandera on a good day. A low-water crossing that is closed after rain, a gate with no code, or an ice storm that has every plumber in the Hill Country on a call can all change the trip. When you call, we tell you honestly what the drive looks like from where the nearest available plumber is.

Licensed and insured, every time

Every plumber we send is licensed and insured in Texas.

That matters more here than in a big city. Texas law exempts some plumbing outside city limits and in small towns from state licensing, so unlicensed work is legal and common in parts of the county. We do not use that gap. The plumber who comes to your property holds a license from the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, and you are welcome to ask for the license number and look it up before work starts. Bandera Plumbers itself is not a plumbing contractor and does not hold a plumbing license; the plumbers do.

Who you will meet at the door

We do not put a team photo or a list of names on this page, and that is deliberate. The plumber who comes to you is the licensed plumber closest to your property when you call, so it changes with the day and the road. What does not change: the plumber introduces themselves, tells you who they work for, and shows you their Texas license if you ask. If you would rather check it before they arrive, ask the dispatcher for the plumber's name.

How dispatch works across a rural county

  1. You call and describe the problem. We ask whether you are on city water and sewer or a well and septic system, what you are seeing, and whether water is still running.
  2. We help you make it safe. If a pipe has burst, we walk you through shutting off the meter valve or the well pump breaker while you are still on the line.
  3. We send the nearest available licensed plumber and pass along your gate code, landmarks and anything else that helps them find a place with no street number.
  4. The plumber diagnoses and prices the job. You get the price before any repair starts, and nothing happens without your approval.
  5. The repair is tested with water running or under pressure, and you get an invoice that lists the work.

What our plumbers do, and do not do, on wells and septic systems

Most of Bandera County lives on a private well and a septic system, so we are clear about scope.

The plumbers we send handle the plumbing on both ends: pressure tanks, pressure switches, the water line from the wellhead to the house, softener and filter hookups, the drain line from the house to the septic tank, cleanouts and vents.

Two kinds of work need a different license. Pulling or replacing a submersible well pump is done by a well pump installer licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Pumping a septic tank, repairing a drain field or spray field, or servicing an aerobic unit is done by a septic provider licensed by TCEQ, and septic repairs are permitted through Bandera County as TCEQ's authorized agent. If that is what your problem needs, we tell you on the phone so you do not pay for a plumber's trip that cannot fix it.
